"Best Meatloaf I've Had in My Life" Recipe

This is what my husband said after eating dinner tonight.  He doesn't say that all the time and meant it when he said it.  He wasn't particularly hungry but raved about "meatloaf" yep....... something I don't make that often and don't dare say I make the best I have ever had........but he did..... and I thought it was great so here goes.

I started with a
Heart Shaped Pan
I think that part was mandatory, if you don't have one you should, it comes in handy all year long, not just for Valentines day, brownies taste especially good when shaped like a heart and frosted.  :)  Meatloaf has an added spice when it is shaped in a heart :)

2 fresh brown eggs in a bowl..........wisk
add 1 lb of ground pork
add 1 lb of ground beef (lean)
1/4 of a large onion chopped finely
garlic powder / granulated garlic
Zaterains Cajun no salt seasoning
handful of dried basil
2 squeezes of heinz ketchup
3 tablespoons of Tennessee Chow Chow (thanks to my freelancing friend Kim S.)
a shake or two of worchestire
and two handfuls of special k cereal (crushed in bowl with potato masher) **print coupon here

Mix all together and put in an oven heated to 350 degrees .  Make sure not to pat down too tightly you want juices to run through it.   Place the heart pan into a cookie sheet "just in case" I didn't need but had in place.  Put 3 cleaned potatoes in a reg. loaf pan.  Place in oven at the same time and both should be ready in about 55 minutes to an hour.  I turned the oven off at 50 minutes and left in oven for about 20 minutes until I served. Was perfect.

*served with my favorite sweet tea

Sorry no pictures of finished product ,  it didn't last long enough to get photographed! :)

Free Shipping kit from the USPS ........convenient, save gasoline

This is what I call a FABULOUS FREEBIE........something I need, takes only a minute to request, legitimate and saves me money.  No fuss..... Not cheesy........and YEP I will use it or give to someone who needs it.

GO HERE
order your 4 shipping boxes and the next time you need to ship easily pack in the box and apply the postage at home .........saving you time , money and gas.......just saying every penny counts.......1 trip to the PO BOX for me takes about 45 minutes, at least a couple of dollars gas .....I like to save in ways like this to afford to buy something else that I like better like an ice cream treat or a frappacino or if I am being even more savvy a rotisserie chicken....that will add up to at least 2-4 meals  :)

See how frugalicious that is?  its AFFRUGAL living......

A TASTE OF AFFRUGAL FOODS and ANJIES TWO CENTS :)

I will post an occasional recipe or cooking creative tip on my other blog ANJIES WORLD most of them are when I use a new product, enter a contest or share with you a really cool and frual way to use your "stockpiles."  Your good deals and your free samples often combine to make something extra scrumptious.

The Ethical and "Normal" way to be a Pro-Couponer is NOT "who has the biggest stockpile" or "who can shut down double couponing the quickest." as displayed on recent episodes of Extreme Couponing.......... The JERRY SPRINGER version of how to save money, rip people off and display your greediness on National Television.  I personally turned down "ripleys" for the opportunity to parody what is a good thing into one that made the entire coupon community look like con artists that donate.  I didn't then and don't now what to be compared to the guy that can fit 100 grapes in his jowls.

Ok now I am off my soapbox "for now" and not even going  to link you to the site because I don't want to come up in search engines when people type in the words "extreme + couponing"

I personally have scaled the couponing part of saving money in the past 2 years due to the hassels at the stores,  the more people out there "extreming" now is very different than the couponers of yesteryear that would often find expired coupons and rebate forms because "no one was interested" in the work it took to save the money.  Now ..........people are ripping off the companies and stores and any other angle they can take it ...... to play this game where no one wins really.

My Stockpiles recently I will share with you,  I will share with you the way that it was intended.  To give everyone a GOOD DEAL and a SMILE ON THEIR FACE and a FULL BELLY  all equaling a great memorable experience with the "brand" that was promoted.  WINNING!  yes this is WINNING and there are plenty of offers to go around with those warm fuzzies..............I hope that you will see what I do and mimick the "style" maybe not the food choices but the ethical choices made........

My Freelancing Friend Beverly shared her "houseparty" with me and did a cyber House Party.  I was a guest and won one of the "door prizes."  She was creative and used her "leftover" items that didn't get taken at her party at her house for a cyber party and shared some with her guests.   She was quite the hostess and here were my prizes : 2 Free coupons for Totally Free Pizzas,  10 coupons for $3 off a Freshetta Pizza and 2 Pizza Cutters.   Originally I was going to Freeze them all in a deep freeze except for 2 (cook for dinner free) after purchasing at our local Food Lion that had them on sale for $4.99 each , making them $1.99 each for the "good kind" of frozen pizza.  The kind that you WANT to eat and we usually added an item or so to.  Any way, we had a fiasco with the freezer (long story) and I had to cook them ALL in one night and then freeze them cooked for later..... yea not good........... so I gave two different neighbors 2 pizzas each and cooked the rest for freezing later in freezer bags.  AWESOME STOCKPILE if I didn't have to cook ..... 10 pizzas would last us a long time, would not go bad, did not clear the shelves, semi-good for you, tastes good and um frugal buy........and more than enough to go around.    AFFRUGAL SAVINGS!  Sharing (BEVERLY) kudos made lots of people smile and it was paid forward a bit.  I will share my pizza cutter with yet another smiling friend.  WINNING!

$20.95 for $43 worth of EatStrong Goods & Services (this offer included shipping costs) & I had a $20 credit HERE   I now have a "stockpile" of healthy snacks around the house to grab when hungry or to put in a packed lunch.  Out of pocket cost was .95cents for this stockpile and there was plenty to go around.  You share your offers with your friends and family (not other people wall's and friends and family) and then they can do the same.   Winning!  everyone loves a deal and there are plenty to go around.  at the cost of 95cents if you don't like this product wouldn't that make a nice donation to the food bank or hen pantry or scouting for food?  You do NOT have to donate tractor truck loads for them to appreciate or you to get a nice deduction.  THIS IS the AFFRUGAL way to do it. Ethical, Kicked up a Notch savings, everyone wins, no one gets hurt.  Loads of opportunities out there and something for everyone almost daily.  Why would anyone "need" more than that?

Today I won $25 in a SURVEY SCREENER that I did sitting at my desk here........didn't cost me a dime in gasoline............  I will use that at my favorite store "The Fresh Market"  a high dollar but VERY TASTY place to buy produce that I normally cannot afford.  The little baby veggies that are so tender, the freshly squeezed oj and fresh herbs that I cannot find anywhere else......... the little "indulgences" that to me make life worth living LOL........well I can take my FREE $25 and get $25 FREE of this and have my own little stockpile of tasty morsels ,and OJ / GINGERALE / MINT drinks that make ya say AHHHHHHHHHHHHH LIFE IS GOOD ......... that is the AFFRUAL STYLE.............

my personal "drug of choice"

I am not telling you that I don't have stockpiles of hair products, deoderants, razors, batteries and even trash bags when ever I can........... I do STOCK THEM UP and SHARE THEM and USE THEM and USE THEM and oh yea did I mention that I don't need to rent a UHAUL to carry them......... they fit nicely on 2 shelves in my linen closet AND I have plenty to donate too.......

YES use your coupons but ask yourself, are you smelling the roses ?  what are you spending in gas, time, storage and life?
