I went to the "Love of Jesus" thrift store this a.m. and was SHOCKED! I went to look for a vanity that I had seen there last week. I had to wait until I asked the DH and had him bring his truck to make a "for sure decision" for Faith. It was painted purple and the mirror had a scratch in it ........so I thought that I was safe leaving it there until today with a $75 price tag on it..........WRONG........... it sold! We left there buying nothing. I noticed last week the amount of stock at the store seems measly compared to what it has been in the past. It is my thought that because of the "hard times" we are having people are donating less to charity and hanging on to more of their stuff, or selling it instead of donating it for cash?
I saw a yellow sign on the highway for a new thrift store that had opened that was on the way home. We went to check it out, it wasn't really a "thrift store" but more like a rented space with "stuff" in it that a person was "reselling." (indoor yard sale store prices were high , I am sure to cover "overhead" - location was terrible and stock was very low. There were a lot of decorator type items in there prices from $1 for a coffee mug and $100 for an antique plate. GO FIGURE...........
Our Pier 1 OUTLET which is also in this same locale, has closed its doors we no longer have that store option and you also can no longer purchase outlet/clearance online :( UGH

I checked out another salvage store yesterday - actually its like a Foreclosure sale store, across from Cloverleaf mall
Next I went to BIG LOTS (on ROUTE 60) . They had NOTHING left on the rack that said 75% off Christmas but they DID have some 90% off items on the toy rack.................. I bought 2 craft sets , a baby doll bath set, mermaid doll (size of a barbie) and a bottle that says "WAAAAAAAAAAa" when you turn it over all for $2.51 out of pocket! I am sure I can put the doll things together w/ a baby doll and make a great gift....... and then 3 more....... so HIGH FIVE ON THIS STOP I DIDN'T NEED ANYTHING ELSE HERE, but I saw some GIANT romantic looking 2.5-4 feet tall wooden floor candle holders that were about $120 ( I would love to have these but more at the price of 25-30 each at the most)............Big lots prices and merchandise seems to be changing a bit, not sure if this is GOOD or BAD? time will tell
GOODWILL books were $3 each on the hardcover aisle (a bit steep for thrift store prices) but I bought 3 of them never-the-less because they were on my wish list. That's all that I bought there. This particular Goodwill is huge and 7/8 of it is clothing. The only "temptation" there was too much money. Ping Pong Table new in the box - pink ticket (that means it came from target)- electronic scoring. it was $125.00 which may be a good price I dunno ........ I really want a ping pong table its on my wishlist and my SISTER HAS ONE FOR ME in her GARAGE I just have to go pick it up.
That is all I got today, I am stocked in many areas and just looking for select items at exceptional prices............. so this was more for fun than anything............. I WILL BE REDIRECTING MY EFFORTS TO THE WEB AND THE GOODIES THERE WITHIN A DAY ! :)
